Manual Lymph Drainage

This is not a massage. Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a series of gentle motions used to move fluid through the lymphatic system. It may be used to reduce swollen skin (e.g., puffiness in the face or limbs) or alleviate fluid retention (e.g., pregnancy, extended immobility, rheumatoid arthritis).

Benefits of MLD

  • reduces pain

  • decreases swelling

  • increases movement of fluid

  • assists in eliminating toxins and waste products by supporting the body’s natural detoxification process.

  • enhances relaxation

NOTE: MLD is not recommended if you have a heart condition, kidney failure, blood clots or an acute infection (e.g., cellulitis).

Services Offered:

  • fibre offers MLD as a Body Treatment. A 90 minute session is beneficial for persons with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome or other syndromes.

  • For those with specific concerns (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, cellulite/lipedema), fibre offers a 60 minute session to facilitate drainage of excess fluids.

  • A face MLD session is also available. It is suitable for those with migraine headaches.
