Best massage in many years!

I just had the best massage I have had in decades! I have been a professional dancer for almost 50 years and I have been getting massages since the 70s. I admit that I am a massage snob! I went to see Julia at thefibrespa.com in Silver Spring, MD because my students gave me a gift certificate. As a new client, I also got a 30 % discount so I received a lot of value for this lovely gift! As soon as I walked into the studio, I felt like I was in for a spa treatment. She closed the shades and the world melted away. The lighting was just right, the scent in the air was perfect and the sounds of the soft meditative music really set the mood. Julia started by washing my feet while I sat back in a cushy chair. She asked me to close my eyes while she gave me gentle guided imagery geared toward relaxation. It felt very magical to me. This did not even count as part of my massage time! Then she showed me to the massage room. I got onto the table and it was warm and cushy and I pulled a furry blanket over me. She gave me a whole body exfoliation with gloves that she let me take home. This was followed by a fabulous full body massage and she was systematic but also very intuitive in her approach. It felt somehow artistic to me and she was able to find all the tight spots that needed work without me even telling her. I never felt that she was rushing. I had some stiffness from an old injury for over 10 years in my shoulder. The doctors, the physical therapists and many massage therapists had never been able to fix this tightness. In one session, Julia loosened this up and I have my full range of motion back! I couldn't believe it! After my amazing massage, she told me to get dressed and meet her back in the sitting area. She gave me tea, a light snack and chocolates while she asked me how I was feeling. I felt like wonderful warm melted butter and when I left I floated down the street. I highly recommend this therapist! She has the gift.
